ToughView™

Engineered for demanding architectural applications, it delivers exceptional strength, stiffness and long-term durability while maintaining the outstanding clarity expected of premium laminated glass. Compared to conventional PVB interlayers, SentryGlas® is up to five times stronger and 100 times stiffer, allowing for slimmer glass constructions, greater structural performance and increased design flexibility.

What is SentryGlas®?

SentryGlas® is a high-performance ionoplast interlayer developed for structural laminated glass applications. Its exceptional strength and rigidity provide improved load transfer between glass panes, resulting in a stronger, more durable laminated glass product.

Unlike conventional interlayers, SentryGlas® offers excellent edge stability, superior resistance to moisture and yellowing, and maintains exceptional optical clarity over time. These properties make ToughView™ an ideal choice for projects where structural performance, safety and long-term durability are critical.

Frequently Asked Questions

Both ToughView™ and ToughGuard™ are custom laminated safety glass products, but they are designed for different applications. ToughGuard™ uses a premium PVB interlayer and is suitable for most architectural laminated glass applications. ToughView™ uses the SentryGlas® ionoplast interlayer, providing significantly greater strength and stiffness for structural glazing, exposed edge installations and other demanding applications.

ToughView™ is manufactured using the SentryGlas® ionoplast interlayer, which is significantly stronger and stiffer than traditional PVB interlayers. Yes. ToughView™ can be manufactured using a range of glass types, including Clear, Low Iron, Tinted and Obscure Glass, with multiple SentryGlas® interlayer thicknesses available to suit project requirements. We can also manufacture ToughView™ to custom sizes and shapes, including holes, notches and cut-outs, with all fabrication completed prior to lamination.

Yes. ToughView™ can be incorporated into a ToughEco™ Insulated Glass Unit (IGU) where projects require both the structural benefits of SentryGlas® laminated glass and improved thermal performance.

Yes. Like other laminated glass products, ToughView™ helps block up to 99% of ultraviolet (UV) radiation, assisting in protecting interior furnishings from fading while maintaining excellent clarity.
