ToughStorm was developed to provide solutions for window companies that require safe and secure glass for use in their cyclonic resistant window frames in cyclonic regions around Australia. It is designed to resist and absorb the impact of wind born debris during cyclones or severe storms.
Cyclonic regions of Australia are depicted on the below map as region A,B1, B2, C & D. Regions B1, B2, C & D which include coastlines in Western Australia, Northern Territory and Queensland are classified as cyclonic regions where protection from wind born debris is required.

The glass is designed in conjunction with a cyclonic framing system and tested to AS/NZS 1170.2:2021
The glass and frame are impact tested with;
A timber mass of 4kg.
A spherical steel ball 8mm in diameter.
Both mass’ are travelling at 44m/s
To ensure full compliance with AS/NZS 1170.2:2021, ToughStorm is to be installed in an approved cyclonic framing system. Further information on our product testing is available on request.
